Uffo, yeh network problem...

She was in a mall shopping when her phone rang… When she saw the number, a glow came on her face… It was her boyfriend… She picked up the phone & said “Hello”… There was no response from the other side… She again said “hello”, but no response… She got irritated…

“Can u please speak something?” she shouted conscious of the surrounding trying to keep a low voice…

“Helloooooo”, she looked at the phone. The network still showed strong. Problem must be from his side. The call showed as still in progress. She looked around…The mall was pretty big & many people were talking on the phone so the reception has to be good.

“Hello!” She shouted welcoming the gaze of onlooker. She could not hear his voice at all. She looked around. She could see an exit of the mall. Maybe outside, the reception would be good. She started walking hurriedly towards the exit speaking continuously on the phone…

“Hello! Hello! For God’s sake can u say something…? Hello” She was out on the road.

She looked at the phone again. The call was still in progress. Maybe if she disconnected, he would call again. Maybe he wouldn’t. She put her fingers on the ‘Disconnect’ button but then tried to give a last try.

“Hello” She spoke again.

“Hello” there was a response...

“Hello” She shouted back. He called rarely and she was not going to miss that call.

“I…. What…. There…Pro...phone..network” His voice was cracking...

“What?” She shouted back.

She was getting frustrated. Why doesn’t he just call her back? He wouldn’t. She knew it. He would say there was network problem and then call her later, much later.

She looked at the phone in her hand. The call was still in progress. She decided to press the ‘Disconnect’ button…

She looked at her phone again. It hadn’t ringed again. It just meant that stupid was not going to call again. She felt her anger boiling inside her. He always did that.

Should she call him back? She thought for a moment and then dialed his number.

“Busy…” She looked helpless. “Couple of minutes after he calls me, he is on another phone” She was thinking “What if he is calling me?”

She ended the call in a hurry. She expected the phone to ring again, it didn’t.

He hadn’t called… He never calls back.

She dialed his number again.

“Busy..” She smacked her fist in anger “Who the hell was he talking to?”

She disconnected the call again expecting the phone to ring. Still no call. He should have learnt to set her phone on call waiting…

The phone rang. She looked at the number. It was him. She hurriedly picked up the phone.

“Hello!” She said with anticipation. The other side went silent. The call was in progress but she couldn’t hear anything. Just silence.

He should definitely get a new phone. “Hello!” She shouted again.

Silence on the other side. She pushed the disconnect button again. She was tired. She was not going to take his calls again. She could not take it anymore.

Why can’t he just call with a good phone? Why must she always wait for his call? Why? Why? Why?

She was frustrated & decided to go home… When she entered her house, again her phone rang… For a moment she thought of not picking up the phone but the very next thought was there must be something urgent…

“Hello”

“Where have you been?” The voice on the end blurted out. “I have been calling you since the last 30 minutes… You Mobile was busy… You are not picking the house number also... I can’t get a decent network here… I was so much worried &….”

“Hello… stop shouting at me… I was trying ur number but it was continuously busy… Why the hell don’t u change ur ‘dabba’ handset & ur ‘faltoo’ service provider…U…”

“I Love U sweetheart…Did u miss me?” he managed to cut her in middle of her loud chatter…

“Ye.. yes! I missed you!” She managed to say something..

“I missed you too mera baby…” He smiled on the phone. She smiled at the other end… He could not see her smile but he knew she smiled. He could feel that she smiled.

“So how are you?” She asked him, her angry tone had disappeared.

“Fine” he smiled on the phone…

“I Love U mera baccha…” she replied “& please change ur phone & ur service provider…”

“Ye.. ba..i..Lo…netw… prob…” His voice crackled again…

She just disconnected the call…

Around the City in just 100 bucks !!!

Hi Friends, u must be thinking that I am dead, but, No, I’m not dead. I dint had a good topic for blogging, so I had to give blogging a break for a while.

It was Sunday afternoon & was just talking with my Father, when I got a good topic for my blog... Hope so you all will like it…

I know a man who stays in Ajmer, whose heart’s desire was to visit the city of dreams, Bombay. He had a long list of things to do here, but not a soul he knew, who would let him stay at his place! “In Bombay, you can get a job, but a place to stay? Never”, his friends had told him!

Finally, his determination & the services of the Indian Railways brought him to this fabulous city of his dreams ! He managed to find a lodging place in Bandra for a couple of days. It was an old dingy room, which was all he could afford for the sum he could pay for… Bedbugs were, of course, free – part of a package deal…

He then put down his wish list on a piece of paper. He would want to visit the Gateway of India, the Hanging Gardens, the Chowpatty, the Borivali National Park, the VT Station…..

He also wished to enjoy the Bhel Puri, Paani Puri, Chaat & Golla at the beach stalls & also eat at the well known eateries offering a variety of Indian food which he had heard so much about & longed to relish…

So he set forth on his journey the next morning by BEST bus. He did not expect that even boarding the city bus would be an adventure sport in itself. But God helps them who pursue their dreams, he believed. His belief brought him to the Gateway of India, where he enjoyed a boat ride & soaked in the sights of the Rajabhai Tower, the Azad Maidan & Churchgate Station & had his lunch at an udipi restaurant & finally boarded the bus to Chowpatty… By this time the sun was about to set & the evening crowds were trickling in…

He gorged on all the Chaat items that he always longed to eat by the waves & sands of Chowpatty as he also relished the sunset by sea... His dreams were coming true… The local train was the next on this itinerary. He boarded the already crowded train at Bandra, managed to cling on to dear life, and was almost pushed out again at SantaCruz. At the end of the ride, he felt as if his body had been massaged as never before at no extra cost, of course!!!

The following couple of days he was able to cover all the places of his desire. He had the princely sum of Rs.100 when he had come & was now left with only Rs.16 in his pocket…

But just how did he manage to do all this in just Rs.100? I demanded him of the breakup of the cost incurred. “Rs.60 for the lodging, Rs.6 for the bus rides, Rs. 7 for the train journeys, Rs.11 for all the chaats…”

“Was the whole city on some kind of discount sale?” I asked…

“No it was Bombay in the year 1976!” said my Father!!...

A Phone Call...

It was around 7.30 in the evening & I was chatting with my friends online… The mobile rang… It was a new number, read 99302 XXXXX (but I knew it was the customer care number of Vodafone, my service provider, bcoz many times in a day I receive call from similar nos.). I cut the phone… Again after 2 min, the phone rang with the same number flashing on the screen…

I took the call reluctantly.

Hello.

Hello, good evening Sir. Am I speaking to Mi-ste-r. Rohit ?

Yes. This is Rohit speaking.

Sir, I am calling from Vodafone. I hope I am not disturbing u sir.

(In the usual scenario, I would have replied in the affirmative and cut the call. But there was something unusual about this voice. I don’t know what it was. It wasn’t husky or sexy or anything. Maybe it sounded……familiar.)

No. Please carry on. What is it about?

Sir, ur bill amt has reached 85% of ur Bill limit of Rs 2,500. Would u like to make an interim bill payment so that u can continue to be in touch with ur family and frnds?

Ahh… yes. I will make the bill payment. Don’t worry.

Thank u very much sir.  Have fun !!!

The last words made me jump and sit up. Yes. No doubt the voice was familiar. The voice sounded so much like Priya. And the way she said ‘Have fun’ in the end, it had to be Priya. Nobody else could say ‘Have fun’ in such a sweet and personal way. The moment she said that, you would start having fun.

Priya was my classmate in college from F.Y.J.C… Long long ago that is. She had come to the college on a transfer from Delhi. She spoke English in a particularly different way. I was drawn to her feminine charm and her pleasant manners. She always used to end her conversation with ‘Have fun’. Soon we became good friends… But she left the college after S.Y.J.C as her Dad again got transferred to Delhi… Once she shifted to Delhi, we used to be in touch with emails or sometimes phone calls, but as years passed by, that also ended… we have not been in touch for almost last 5 years…

But she couldn’t be her. She needn’t be the only one in the world who ends her conversation with a ‘Have Fun’. Given her voice and manners, she was destined to become a news reader or something.

The voice and the conversation haunted me for 1-2 days. I even gave a call back on the no. but continuously got an engage tone… Soon I completely forgot about it. When certain things happen to you, you believe that it is the best thing or the worst thing that has happened to you in your entire life and miraculously, after some days, you completely forget about them.

And then, today, I got this call from a long lost friend.

Hello

Hello.

What Hello-Vello. How are you dude ?

Uggh…I am fine. I am sorry, but may I know who I am speaking to ?

Aaaa..yes yes. Who has time in this world to remember old friends. Aap tho bade aadmi ban gaye.

Ankur ? That’s you ? God! Where have you been?

I thought that question was mine. How are you man? No news for almost a year.  Making new friends doesn’t mean you lose touch with old friends buddy.

No…nothing like that. Just got busy with this mundane life. You tell me. How are you?

Hmm…yeah everything is fine. Listen, I have something to tell. You remember Priya ?

Hmm.. the Delhi  one?

Yes yes…. Some days back, she bumped in to my sister in the bus stop. Apparently, she was very happy to have seen an old face from College. She was enthusiastic about getting back to the College gang again. She gave her number.  Take it down.

Just a second… Yeah tell…

98206 XXXXX

Alright. You spoke to her?

Yes. She sounded very happy… She enquired about all our friends. Asked about you twice or thrice in a manner which made me jeolous.

( I couldn’t help the appearance of a blushful smile )

What else? What is she doing?

She told me she is working with the helpdesk of Vodafone. Earning quite a decent pack. Tell me, why do these call centre executives get paid so handsomely? Is it fair that I get peanuts for my government job ?

How is her family?

By her voice, I guess they are very happy. She got married & already is a proud mother of one son…

Ok.

Why don’t you talk to her directly. She will be happy to listen from you. You will speak to her right?

Yes…. Aab tu phone rakhega to baat karunga na… will give u a call after talking to her…

As Soon as I cut the phone, I got a call from the same no. 99302 XXXXX (Vodafone call centre no.)

Hello

Hello Sir, 3 days back I had given u a call for making the bill payment…

Hey Priya, I recognized u… When u had called me first time I doubt that it was u but was not sure… U say, how r u ??

I am fine Rohit… I just wanted to play a small prank on u… First of all, congratulate me… I got married & have a one year old son also..

Congrats Dear, but u have to give a treat… Just before ur phone came, I was talking to Ankur… Lets meet today evening… What say ?

Ok… Bye… will see u in the evening…

We all friends meet in the evening at a Restaurant & had lots of funs… Kept on talking for hours… We all were meeting after long time… It was great pleasure… It was one of my unforgettable evening….

I will end this blog with this message New friends may be a poem, but old friends are alphabets… Do not forget alphabets bcoz u will need them to read the poem”…

A Pillow talk with GOD…

Dear God,

If at all u browse the net, if at all u come across my blog, if at all you happen to read this post, please give a few moments to think about what I am going to say…

I am very ordinary person, from very ordinary world. I don’t know how many people in this world think I am special to them. I know u exist but, I never thought of u as God. I thought of u as a person sitting beside me in the lonely bench in the park, having a nice little chat with me in the evening, about how things are going in my life…

All I ask is one small thing from u, little more happiness. I am not complaining, but just asking for something little more…. Well, it is a big thing, you may say. It is indeed. It’s 1.30 in the midnight & unable to sleep. I went to bed, and just like every other night I think about stuff… stuff….& more stuff…. what happened and what didn’t... In both cases, I wonder why it is so…. I never got an answer before I went to sleep unknowingly. And when I sleep, I get these dreams, both happy and sad, both sweet and nightmares. Sometimes, I wake up suddenly, not wanting to think about the bad thing I was dreaming. Sometimes, going back and trying to get some more sleep so that I can dream of that wonderful thing I dreamt about just minutes back.  Tonight, I’m unable to sleep. I kept thinking about how things are ‘unfurling’ around my life... I kept thinking about why I’m unable to do anything about it. I still haven’t got any answer for that.

Every time I feel like quitting, I have this urge to fight, again with full sincerity. But I do break down like now. I don’t know if it is okay to break like this. I feel very easily broken inside sometimes, and I don’t know, if it okay to feel like that. I rarely showed my sad part to anyone, and I have heard many people say that I never get so sad, or that I never grudge on people. I never show that out, because, for me it is the hardest thing to do…

When will I ever wake up on a day to hear a sweet surprise? I want a number of sweet surprises; just like I give to the people I love, like I make them feel so special. The other day, I phoned one of my friends to wish Happy Birthday. That person kept on saying in a so excited way, how happy it was to hear my voice wishing on the b’day. I do that to lot many people lot many times; because I know what it feels like not to be special….

Why are you not letting this happen to me? Are you reading this line? Or you too skip reading those long posts and read only those short posts in the blogs? Just give me one break. And let me know that it is a break! I want to be selfish. Make me selfish. Make me think of myself. Before I go & try to get some sleep tonight, I’d like to ask you, why can’t I have at least one sweet surprise tomorrow that will change my whole life? That will change the way a couple of people see me now.

God, I m not complaining about my life, nor I m saying that there are many obstacles in my life or I am very depressed… I know it’s just that I m passing though a bad phase…. There are always 2 sides of a coin, a good & another bad side… It’s just that at present the coin is on the bad side…
Hope you can understand how I feel now, in the middle of this night. Hope you give some thought about this….

Lastly, I want to say one more thing…If any of my friends get irritated or have a fight with me then later that day I feel so bad that my mind goes numb, my heart feels heavy, and I start hating and blaming myself for whatever happened. I would at that moment give-up anything to have that friend of mine back. I am saying this because I have a feeling that one of my friends is angry or irritated by me lately and I am still feeling bad about it. I hope that my view of the situation is wrong and she is not at all angry with me or even if she was, she has already forgiven me.

Good night God… J

Hostel No. 13....

Hi Friends, in my previous post “About Myself”, i had mentioned that i get angry when someone even after promising doesn’t give a comment on my post... Yaar agar comment nahi karoge to mere blog ki TRP kaise badegi..... Just kidding yaar....  I thank you all for reading my blog & giving a comment on it.... Thanks a lot.... (Direct Dil Se !!!)

Hey Khyati u had commented in my previous post that “kyon bore kar raha hai apne baare me batakar....” & u had asked me to write stories only.... So aap ki aagya ka palan karte hue mein iss time apne baare mein kuch nahi likh raha hu.....

Sudeep u had asked that kya mein shaadi kar raha hu kya... Dude, mera abhi itni jaaldi shaadi karne ka koi irada nahi hai... Pehle life mein thoda settle ho jane de warna jo ladki aayegi woh meri haalat dekh kaar hi bhag jayege... Hehehehe.....

Chalo yaar, bahut personal baatein ho gayi warna Khyati ko phir se gussa aa jayega & this time also she will bang me.... Abhi taak mein last time ki maar nahi bhula hu....

Before stating my story here’s a statutory warning that “this story is little scary & those who all have weak heart read this story at their own risk....” lol...

Dev was allocated a room in Hostel No 13. Of course all his batch mates will stay in the same hostel. "Any batch that came into Hostel 13 turned out to be the most violent batch in the campus", said one of the seniors who knew Dev.

Dev gives a damn to all such stereo typing. He just nodded his head, but did not give a second thought on that. He continued his life in the hostel. The ragging from the seniors was too severe. Dev has taken it in his stride. Once the ragging period was over, everything seemed fine. Dev and his batch mates started concentrating on their academics.

It was a new moon day and the night was dark. There was a power shutdown. The students had lit candles in their rooms to finish their pending work. Suddenly sound of bangles was heard in the hostel. The sound was as if a woman wearing bangles was struggling against something. Probably an aggressor was holding her hands tight and she was using all her energy to push him aside. There was absolutely no body shrieking for help. Initially all the students started shouting on the lookout for the aggressor and the woman. Usually no woman ever comes towards the boys’ hostel area in the campus and the sound of the bangles has taken everyone by surprise. The students decided to remain silent and a few students have taken the initiative to search every nook and corner of the hostel and the surroundings. There was no sign of any woman. But the sound of the bangles continued unabated.

Meanwhile someone in the batch ran to the seniors’ hostel to tell about the happenings. Some of the seniors also rushed to the hostel to hear the sound of the bangles and the sound was very clear to everyone. The matter was immediately reported to the hostel warden and the college authorities rushed to the hostel along with some policemen. Everyone was able to hear the sound of the bangles. No one was able to clearly identify the direction. The police ensured that all the students came out of the hostel and carries out intense search operation. They could not find anyone. But the sound of the bangles continued. As the police continue their search, the power supply got restored in the hostel. The sound of the bangles could not be heard any more.

The police and the college authority dismissed it as a foul play by some students and leave the hostel. Dev also believes in the same theory. He does not give a damn to the concept of ghosts and other spirits. He was doubly sure that someone has played a practical joke on the students in the hostel.

Then he and others in the hostel settle down for studies. Meanwhile one of the senior who was in the same hostel earlier visits them. He enquires about the happenings and tells the history of the hostel as was known to him.

“Around 20 to 25 years back, when there were no girl students in the college, no local woman ever dared to enter the campus. Some student leaders in the campus used to be ruthless in the campus. The reason behind the fear was the presence of a guy called Kabir in the campus. He used to rape any woman at will irrespective of the age. For him old or young never used to matter. He also then used to allow his followers to do what they wish to the women. The administration in the area was altogether absent and even if the poor women die, there never used to be any complaint against the student leaders and no case was ever booked against the college goons. Once a poor girl, who was the daughter of a local industry worker accidentally passed through the campus. She was least aware of the fate in store for her. It was Kabir himself who spotted her. It was like prey getting into the lion’s den.”

“Kabir and others have resorted to mass rape that the girl succumbed to her fate in the hostel itself. The hostel was nothing but hostel no 13. There were many good students in the hostel who heard the groaning of the girl and also the sound of her bangles. But no student ever dared to say anything against Kabir in the campus. He used to openly move around with a country made rifle.”

“The body was then dumped in the nearby fields. However the college authority has this time taken this very seriously, but could not find a solution. There is no point in approaching the police. Kabir’s family was so powerful in the state that the authority fears getting into the legal mode. Before the authority gets an idea, Kabir was shot dead inside the campus. The bullet shot came from a window in the hostel and slowly the equations in the campus changed. Over a period of time, the college was opened for girls as well.”

“All of us know the story. The seniors pass this story from batch to batch but none of us heard the bangles sound the way you people experienced. We all believe that a ghost is haunting the hostel, but it was proven today.”

After listening to the story, Dev gets convinced that the seniors were involved in the foul play. But many in his batch started believing that a ghost haunts the hostel.

There was a talk in the campus that student violence has always been the bloodiest in the hostel no 13. Even the college administration confirms the fact. Dev thinks that it is seniors who are creating the hype about the hostel and some goons in each batch are resorting to violence to prove the point of the seniors. He decides against believing such stories.

3 months later, one of their batch mates Rajiv hangs himself in his room and dies. It happens just before a local festival. Now the majority of the students get convinced of the presence of a ghost. The room where Rajiv died was abandoned by all the students. No one dared to even go near the room.

Dev decides to use the situation as an opportunity. For a very long time, he had been behind the hostel warden to give him a better table and chair. He was using table and chair that were not good. A leg of the table was broken and his chair also was a damaged one and he was feeling uncomfortable using the same. He now gets the table and chair from Rajiv’s room. He knows that no one can object to his decision. His room mate objects saying that it is not good to bring anything from Rajiv’s room. Dev gives his room mate two choices. Either he should part with his quality chair and table or should allow him to get the one from the room of Rajiv.

Dev finally brings the table and chair from Rajiv’s room. He is now very happy that he got something that the warden has not given him for quite some time. His roommate now leaves for home to have a change. In fact due to the forthcoming festival season, the students had been waiting for an opportunity to leave for their homes. All the students leave the campus. Dev’s home is far away from the campus. He also wanted to concentrate on studies a bit more. He decides against leaving the hostel before the holidays start officially. Though all the students in his batch planned to leave, he knows about the presence of senior batches in the hostel and hence there was no need to worry for food. The college canteen will anyway be kept open for the senior batches. Dev’s roommate is no more interested to stay with him. He shifts his entire luggage to another room before going home. Dev then changes the lock of the room. He is now alone in the room and happy about it. He will have no disturbance any more from anyone.

It was the night of the festival. Dev was all alone in his hostel. He was very busy studying for the next terminal exams on the silent night. He has a habit of keeping the window and ventilator always locked while in the room. Also the winter was very cold. Whenever he goes even to the bathroom, he goes by locking the door of his room and carries the key along with. Late in the night while reading a text book, he goes to the bathroom keeping the book open on his table. He of course locks the door.

There was still stunning silence all around. Of course it will be silent when no one is there in the hostel. Dev returns back in just 5 minutes and his heart fails as soon as he opens the door.

The fan that was off earlier was running at full speed. The book was still open on the same page that he was on earlier, but some content in the book was underlined and there was a signature of Rajiv wishing Dev good luck in the exams.

Dev’s body lies there for some days. The sweepers did not go into the hostel thinking that no one was present in the hostel. It takes time before the college realises that Dev died. After this incident, no student was ready to stay in the hostel. The college authorities had a tough time allocating new rooms for the students and over a period the haunted hostel was converted into a utility area...

About Myself...

Hey friends, i have hardly written anything about myself... & i am not getting any idea for the new story also..... So today i decide to write something about my likes, dislikes, what irritates me, etc.....

Following are few things which i love to do or want to do:

1. Drive the car at a very high speed.... Till now the maximum speed at which i have driven a car is 138 km/hr but i want the Speedo meter to cross 150 km/hr....

2. I want to learn how to hack an email account... I tried few methods but it didn’t work....... So if anyone knows how to hack the account please let me know...

3. I am very adventurous guy & wish to do various activities such as paragliding (tried doing it twice, but both the times winds were not favourable for it, so was not able to go for it), bungee jumping, sky diving, paracelling & river rafting (both i have done it once, but wish to do one more time). Planning to go for river rafting this rainy season...

4. Like to go for trekking

5. Enjoy playing pranks on friends, but sometimes mein kuch jayda hi masti kaar jata hu & they get hurt....so i m really sorry for that...But kya karu, nature hi aisa hai & i always promise them that i will not hurt them but end up doing the same thing..... I am really very sorry to all of them....

6. If given a chance i would like to do the stunts performed in Khatron Ke Khiladi serial....

7. I like to keep on experimenting with my computer & because of which i have sometime lost some data or have corrupted some file...

8. To go on a long drive with a girl friend but kya kare abhi tak ek bhi girl friend nahi hai (but someone has promised to help me in finding one).... So jab tak girl frined nahi hai tab tak i enjoy going on a long drive with family...

9. Listening to hindi music at its full volume......

Following are few things which frustrate me and some of my negative qualities:

1. I get frustrated when people make promises & then don’t fulfil it...

2. If someone keeps me waiting, be it friends or anyone, i easily get frustrated...

3. Mumbai traffic, especially the auto-rickshaw when they don’t give side, i get irritated.... don’t know what they think of themselves & why the hell they don’t give side..I think one of the main reason for traffic jams in Mumbai is this rickshaws.... If they drive systematically, to some extent the problem of traffic jams can be solved......

4. I easily get frustrated when i am not able to achieve what i have planned, be it in studies or in anything.....

5. I get angry when people smoke in public places....Unko kuch bolo to they start fighting.... I don’t know why the F*** they need to smoke in public places??? Cant they smoke in private places.... Kya Mumbai mein traffic se nikalne wala dhua kaam nahi hai ki these bloody smokers are adding more to the pollution....

6. I get angry when friends even after promising me don’t give me there comments on the post on my blog...... (just kidding yaar)....

7. I am a very short tempered guy...... It just takes me few seconds to lose my temper & once i lose it takes me lot of time to be normal & many a times because of this mera saara gussa meri little sister pe nikalta hai.... I am sorry sister....

8. From few of the above points you all must have came to know that i easily get frustrated, so that’s one of my biggest week point...

9. I have lots of negativity in myself & to some extent whatever negative i think about myself, it comes true... U can say that my sixth sense is little bit powerful....hahaha.... To give some example, few days back i had thought of breaking a glass & getting myself hurt. The next day a ketchup bottle slipped from my hand & i got hurt... Second incidence was that i thought ki aaj mera accident hoga & the same day ek chotta sa car se accident ho gaya (it was not my fault)..... There are many such examples......

Lastly, i would like to say one thing which i have learnt & hope so most of you will also agree with me, “Don’t be so sweet that people ingest you & don’t be so bitter that people spit you out......”

Witness to a Murder....

Hey Sudeep in my first post u had said that the real challenge would be to continue blogging & I feel that u were right.......I have nothing to write about my life because there’s not much special going on in my life....... Life is really going at its slow pace........ But to continue blogging kuch to karna hi hai...... So here’s I am with a new story “Witness to a Murder”, hopes so you all will like & if don’t then don’t curse me.........hahahaha.........

Rajiv had seen this kind of thing happen in movies but he never thought it happened in real life. Rajiv lived with his wife Sneha and her brother Vikram. Vikram had been living with them for about a year. Vikram had moved to Mumbai in search of employment. He found odd jobs but was not successful in finding something good that will enable him to move on his own. Sneha and Rajiv were very understanding and they made Vikram at home.

One night Vikram was returning after watching a late night show and he witnessed something shocking. The ally was deserted and it was dark with the exception of street light. He saw two men holding a man while a third man fired 3-4 shots of bullet. The sound of gun was loud and Vikram expected people to flock the streets to see what had happened but he forgot that he was in Mumbai, things like these were of daily occurance. Vikram did manage to see the guy’s face who fired those shots, the victim fell down and the other two shouted “Munna Bhai yeh to khallas ho gaya hai, aap ghar jao hum body ko thikhane lagate hai”. Munna bhai lit a cigarette as he walked away slowly.

Vikram was shocked, he ran as fast as he could and reached home, he decided not to tell about his incident to anyone. Rajiv noticed that Vikram acted a bit different that day but he soon got busy and forgot about the incident. Vikram read all the newspapers to see if the incident was mentioned but nothing was written about it.

A few days after the incident Vikram overheard two boys talking about the murder, he heard enough to figure out what had happened. Murthy managed Munna’s money and one day Murthy got greedy and started cheating, Munna eventually figured it out and decided to get rid of him. Murthy’s parents knew Murthy was dead but they were too scared to report this to the police.

Vikram decided to tell everything to Sneha and Rajiv. They were both scared, Sneha asked him to return to their village for some time. Rajiv however understood the severity of the situation. He called his inlaws to discuss this matter. Vikram’s mother was scared but his father wanted him to do the right thing and report the incident to the police.

Rajiv and Vikram went to the Police Station and reported the crime. Munna was powerful and he had insiders in the police. It did not take long for Munna to find the whereabouts of Vikram and he started getting threatening letters and phone calls.

In-laws were consulted again and this time the father agreed that the best thing to do was to send Vikram home for good. Doing the right thing is one thing but a son’s life is dearer to parents.
In the middle of night Rajiv made Vikram wear a burkha, they left the house quietly, they took a taxi to the train station and Vikram did not board the train until it was about to leave, everything went as planned and Rajiv breathed a sigh of relief.

No sooner had the train left that Rajiv was surrounded by two goons, they asked him to sit in a taxi and they blindfolded him. Rajiv saw that they were carrying guns and on the bumpy road the gun would touch his hands and his heart would skip a beat.

Finally they reached a deserted place and his blindfold was removed. A man came over and introduced himself, he was Munna. He thanked Rajiv for leaving Vikram at the train station but demanded money. Munna claimed that his reputation was damaged and he wanted to be compensated financially. Rajiv did not carry that much cash with him but he promised to bring the money next day. Munna gave him 12 hours to meet his demands.

Rajiv told Sneha about the whole incident. They had no choice but to pay up, the next morning Rajiv went to the police station. The Police Chowki board was missing and some of Munna’s goons were removing the furniture. Inside Munna was drinking tea, he asked Rajiv “Paise laye kya?” Rajiv handed over the money, at that time Murthy came from another room, he patted Rajiv on his back and said “Kyon sahab kya haal hai?” With a big smile Rajiv replied
“Aab to Haal ekdum theek hai…saala jo bhaag gaya”.

Yaad aate hai woh pal....

Few weeks back, after a long time I had a chat with my college friend & we were just discussing how we used to enjoy during our college days….. How we used to freak out with friends, bunk classes, sit in the canteen for hours…….. No work pressure, no deadlines……. Apni marzi ke hum raja hua karte the….. But once we graduated, it has been months we meet each other, or talk with each other.….. We are just stuck up with our work, work & more work……

Then today while listening to the song “Pal, yaad aayenge ye pal” again the same thing came to my mind, how our life has changed a lot……. & from here, I got a topic for my blog…….. “Yaad aate hai woh pal (college days)”…..

I still remember the day when SSC results were out & I had got fairly good marks to get an admission to N.M. College….. I was excited to go to college, make new friends…. For me & rather for all of us, College meant no more uniforms, no more need to cut the hairs ridiculously short, no more need to wear daily a pair of well polished black shoes, bunk classes…... You all would agree that we still remember our first day in the college. Who would not? That day when we stepped outside childhood and entered Youth.

I can’t say that I enjoyed a lot in my college but still had fun….. But now seeing today’s life, I feel that jitni bhi college day’s mein masti ki who bahut thi because now we friends have hardly any time to meet each other….. It has been months we meet each other or talk with each other…..

I have tried my best to brief out college days in the following few paragraphs…….

Yaad aate hai woh pal jo humne sath bitaye the...
Classroom ki benches pe jo humne drawings banayi the...
Woh lecture bunk marna... Woh chup chup ke proxies lagana...
Woh bhag bhag ke 1st lecture main pahuch jaana... Uspe teacher ka hume dekhkar muh banana...
Woh class main baith baith ke jhapkiya marna...
Woh notebook ke andar sheets rakh assignments complete karna...
Woh teacher ka beech beech main round maarne aana... Unko aate dekh humara satark ho jaana...
Woh lunch ki bell bhajte hi doston ko milne jaana...

Coridor main khade rehke ladke/ladkiyon ko dekhna...
Woh shaam hote hote sabka thak jaana...
Dheere Dheere chalke station tak jaana...
Beech raaste pe rukkar Xerox nikalna....
Dosto ke sath bhagte bhagte local train pakadna...
Masti karke, gaate gaate ghar ki aur badna... Isi tarah haste haste humara din nikal jaana... Duniya ki zhamelo se kitna alag tha woh zamana...

Raat raat bhar jhag ke exams ki tayari karna...

Woh call kar kar ke dosto se answers discuss karna…
Subah nahake bhagwan ke darshan karne jana... Hey Bhagwan!! Is baar please KT mat lagana...
Raaste pe chalte chalte kitabo main ghus jaana...
Woh ghadi ke kaaton pe baar baar nazar ka jaana...
Woh exam ke pehle baar baar toilet ke darshan ho jana... Aur mann hi mann main diagrams/ answers dohrana...
Exam k bell bajte hi yahan wahan bhagna...
Doston ki kitabo main ek naya question pana...
Woh Sir ka hume baar baar bulana... “Just a min” bolke unse peecha chudana...
Who question paper ka distribute hona… Logo ka reaction dekhne ke liye mann lalchana…
Who question paper hath lagte sir patakna… Freak!!! yeh padna reh gaya yeh bolke apne aap ko kosna…
Woh Exam hall main ishare karna..
Aage wale ne woh attempt kiya ho yehi aas rakhna…
Woh exam khatam hone ka warning bell bajna..
. Idhar udhar sab jagah hath pair maarna...
Woh exam ke baad paper discuss karna aur sab sach samne aana…
Copy na kar pane pe doston ko galiyan dena…
Kaash ye bhi pada hota uske sapne dekhna......
Phir badi betabi se results ka wait karna…

Kya din hua karte the woh… na koi tension... na boss ki gaaliyaan.... na deadlines ki tension... (mass-bunk to maar sakte the wahan)... Lekin ab saab who yaadein baan gayi hai….
kaash woh din fir vaapis laut aayen...

Chalo yaar, bahut likh liya...... It’s now time to go to sleep as it’s too late now... But before ending now, let’s make a point that we should try to meet atleast once in a month......

Good Night !!!

Delhi 6........

Received a mail from Vijit, asking whether coming for Delhi 6 on Saturday for 4.45 show, & said it seems to be a nice movie & have got a good review...... I thought lets go for it......... Later due to some reason plan was changed to Sunday 12 noon show....

To start with, Rakeyesh Mehra actually managed to depict almost every aspect of indian life namely police, corruption, media, community, religion, Rama and politics, metro and modern aspirations, arranged marriage and indian idol...alas the list is endless. May be this makes people feel lost watching the movie, searching for a main plot all the while, missing the bigger picture......

The Movie:
‘Delhi 6’ made on the backdrop of Delhi’s most populated Chandni Chowk, takes a lot of time on introducing each and every character, though every moment is enjoyable . The two brothers [Om Puri, Pawan Malhotra] and the wall that divides the two; the daughter of the house [Sonam Kapoor] aspires to be an 'Indian Idol' contestant; a moneylender's [Prem Chopra] wife has an illicit relationship with one of his debtors [Cyrus Sahukar]; an 'untouchable' [Divya Dutta] ; a friend of the family [Rishi Kapoor] has still not forgotten his first love & yes there is Kaala Bandar who spreads havoc in the locality......

The onus is them shifted on to the hero Roshan( Abhishek Bachchan) – a US bred protagonist – born to a hindu father and a muslim mother, who returns to India with his ailing Grandmother (Waheeda Rahman), as she prefers to die in her motherland.

Exposed to a totally different culture, the young man gets the real flavour of the junk food on the busy streets and also witnesses a cow delivering on the middle of the roads, blocking the traffic. The director also uses the backdrop of Ram leela celebrations in the colony to project the national integration , by showing a muslim jalebiwala, an active member of the organizing committee. At the same time he shows the Politicization of the festival, when mid way of the concert the organiser felicitates the minister . It is during this fest that Roshan meets Bittu ( Sonam Kapoor) an ambitious young girl in the neighborhood, who is practicing hard to become an Indian idol on TV reality show.

The director has also shown the tamashaa of our TV channels blowing up the news of a supposed to be monkeyman, attacking the people in that town. But then he had the reason to do so, as he finds his climax in this tale, through which he delivers a message. But, in this trashy climax, he has also stuffed a scene from heaven inviting his Aks- favourite Amitabh Bachchan to do an act of conversation with the hero, who returns to the earth after knocking at the doors of heaven. So, the journey of the hero from life to death and again life drags on in an ambulance which also struggles to run on its way to the hospital.

The Message:
Like Rang de basanti this movie also has a big message.. actually a bigger message which can actually save our community.....our country..... Most of our netas, our country neighbors who simply dislike us for our progress and unity use us time to time to divert our attention for their benefit and we are played just like any other card. But if we learn to live in peace with each other then we stand so strong and could face any challenge..... In his message he has tried to explain in detail as to how a wicked ghost hidden in each one of us tries to give rise to enmity amongst each other and in the process destroys humanity.

The Conclusion:
Too much of hype and high expectations from audience always makes a film look ordinary, after its release. The same has happened in the case of ‘Delhi 6’. A lot was expected from the intelligent director, but like his long name, he opted for too many characters and offered a multifaceted presentation with subtle screenplay.....
Abhishek doesn't work. His American accent sounds fake. Sonam is likeable. Waheeda Rahman enacts her part well. Rishi Kapoor is wasted. He deserved a better role.
